Who we are
startabizz.com is a coaching and education platform that helps people start service businesses, operated by startabizz.com, Lyongade 16, 2300 Copenhagen, Denmark, CVR DK41552190, who is the data controller for the data described in this policy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website and sign up for our programs, including the First to $5,000 challenge.
What data we collect
We collect the following personal data when you sign up:
- Name: to personalise your experience and communications
- Email address: to send you access to the challenge and contact you about it
- Phone number: to reach you during the challenge, including by text message if we send challenge updates by SMS
- Business details: the type of business you run, how long you have been working on it, what it earned in the last 30 days, and your highest revenue in a single month, used to understand where you are starting from
- Your goals: what you want to happen in the next 30 days, where you want your business to be in six months, and what you want to get out of the challenge, used to tailor the challenge and the live classes to you
- Your chosen class date: to place you in the right class
If you join the live classes, we also collect recordings. See the section on recordings below.
Why we collect it
We process your data based on your explicit consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by checking the consent box before submitting. We use your data to:
- Register you for the challenge and give you access to the four live classes
- Send you emails about the challenge: your access link, class materials, and reminders
- Contact you about your progress and your end-of-challenge review call
- With your consent, send you occasional emails about our other programs and offers. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
We will never sell your data to third parties.
Recordings of live classes
The live classes, two a week, are recorded so participants who miss one can watch it back, so we can improve the program, and, as covered by the consent you give at signup, so we can share clips on our media channels. If you have joined a class and later want a recording you appear in taken down or your appearance removed, contact us at privacy@startabizz.com and we will handle it. You can also join with your camera off.
